1863 French Post Offices in Alexandria, n° 17B (Yv.), small cover originating in Cairo where it received the "POSTA EUROPEA CAIRO" c.d.s. on the front, addressed to Firenze, Italy and transferred to the French Post Office in Alexandria, franked with an imperf. Napoleon III 80c rose which was tied by the large numerals "5080" cancel (cat. value €800 for an ordinary cover), framed "PIROSCAFI POSTALI FRANCESI" alongside on the front and various transit and arrival postmarks on back, great aspect and effectively a combination cover (Italy + France), very scarce, vf
